Holding The Sky Open

There is a particular discomfort that surfaces whenever the conversation drifts toward origins.

Not just about the universe, but about anything that resists clean explanation. Where did this begin? What caused it? What stands underneath it all? The moment the trail of causes grows thin, many of us feel a quiet urgency to finish the story. To place something solid where uncertainty starts to feel exposed.

It is in that space that claims like “atheism is a religion too” often appear. Not as careful philosophy, but as emotional symmetry. A way of making the unknown feel less asymmetrical. If everyone is ultimately just believing something, then no one has to sit alone with not knowing.
